If you’re a Disney fan, then you likely know about Friday’s Festival of Fantasy Parade in which the Maleficent dragon caught on fire and almost burned up entirely. Well, a day later…the parade still ran at Magic Kingdom and the dragon’s replacement was decked out in all her pink royalty.
That’s right, Princess Aurora and Prince Phillip officially took the dragon’s place in Saturday’s run of Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade. They stood together on a rolling gazebo float and made their way through the parade route as guests waved and smiled.
Yes, Phillip was already in the parade as he battled the dragon, but now, he stood with Aurora who made her parade debut.

For those who may not know, the dragon caught on fire in Friday’s run of the parade and burned up quite a good bit. Cast Members acted quickly and the fire was extinguished in less than three minutes and no injuries were reported…which is great news.
At this time, it is expected that the Maleficent dragon will return in the future after repairs are made, but it is not known when that will happen. With the situation on Friday, we shouldn’t expect it to breathe fire any longer either.
The parade at Disneyland Paris also has a version of the Maleficent dragon and its breathing fire action has been temporarily suspended while Disney checks things out for safety.
