Mickey’s Backyard BBQ At Disney’s Fort Wildneress Reportedly Closing At The End Of The Year

The rootin’ tootin’ good time over Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground may soon quiet down a bit as it is now being reported that Mickey’s Backyard BBQ will come to a close at the end of 2018.

A report issued by WDW Magic states that Mickey’s Backyard BBQ is slated to have its final performance on Dec. 31, 2018.

By checking out the official website for Mickey’s Backyard BBQ, there are dates up until Dec. 31, 2018, but none into January or February. That isn’t much of a true indicator, though, as the dining offering always runs on a 10-month season and doesn’t happen in those two.

As of this time, Disney has not said anything to confirm this news or officially say that Mickey’s Backyard BBQ is closing and going away. Disney is a company that simply waits until everything is in place and confirmed to announce anything officially.

That being said, it is quite possible that Mickey’s Backyard BBQ could continue, but it seems a bit unlikely at this point. It is believed that the closure is to help make way for a new resort/DVC enhancements that are to be built where River Country now stands.

Again, until or unless Disney says something, nothing is official. But, Mickey’s Backyard BBQ does appear to have its days numbered. If anything becomes official, we will let you know right away.

Nothing is going on with the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and it is continuing as always. There is also the possibility of a similar BBQ offering being added in the future.
