We all knew that Angelina Jolie was going to don the horns and wings once again as one of Disney’s most vile villains, but we’ve been waiting for that first new look. Now, the first trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil has been released and the wickedness is back come this October.
Angelina Jolie is indeed back for the second film and she will step back into the title role of Maleficent.
Disney also released a short plot synopsis for the film. In Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, she “continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.
Along with Jolie, Elle Fanning will be Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty). Others who are starring in the film are Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sam Riley, Harris Dickinson, Ed Skrein, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil will fly into theaters on October 18, 2019.
