Emeril’s Restaurant At Universal Orlando CityWalk Is Closing This Summer

One of the longest standing dining locations at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk is closing its doors this summer. A spokeswoman for Emeril’s Orlando, started by Emeril Lagasse himself, confirmed that the final day of operation for the restaurant will be July 7, 2018.

The 108 employees of Emeril’s Orlando was advised this week of the restaurant’s soon-to-come closure. Employees will be able to apply for other positions at Universal Orlando.

Emeril Lagasse released a statement regarding the closure, but there was no actual reason given as to why it was happening.

“We have deeply enjoyed the opportunity to serve our loyal guests and are immensely appreciative of our entire staff for their dedication and service. I am thankful to the entire team at Universal CityWalk for their valued relationship and for the opportunity to operate here.”

This is the second big closing at Universal Orlando in the half a year. Back on Dec. 31, the Tchoup Chop ceased operations on Dec. 31, 2017. It was located inside of the Loews Royal Pacific Resort.

Emeril’s Orlando opened with Universal CityWalk back in 1999.

As of now, there has not been any word on what could possibly replace Emeril’s Orlando once it closes up and leaves CityWalk. Tom Schroder is a spokesman for Universal Orlando and he has said that it’s been a good relationship with Chef Lagasse over the years.

“Emeril’s has been a special part of Universal CityWalk from the beginning. We are sad to see them go, but we respect their decision. We’ve enjoyed our relationship with Emeril and his entire team, and we are thankful for the years of great dining and great service they’ve offered our guests.”
