Guests are not going to be able to take a good old-fashioned log raft ride across the Rivers of America to play in a fort and explore caves for a while later this year. Tom Sawyer Island is going to be closed soon for nearly two months as it undergoes some refurbishment.
Tom Sawyer Island is scheduled to close for refurbishment beginning on Oct. 14, 2018. It is scheduled to remain closed through Dec. 21, 2018.
As of this time, Tom Sawyer Island is tentatively scheduled to reopen to guests on Dec. 22, 2018.
Please note that dates are subject to change and can without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.
