Earlier this year, we reported that Bongos Cuban Cafe at Disney Springs would be closing up and ending its operations this summer. Now, we have an official date for the longtime dining location to close its doors and it is coming this weekend.
It is now known that the final day of operating for Bongos Cuban Cafe will be on Sunday, August 18, 2019. As of Monday, the restaurant will keep its doors closed and construction will begin shortly after that.
Bongos Cuban Cafe opened in 1997 and has been a staple on the West Side for more than two decades. Jaleo did just recently open next door to it and the Disney Springs food trucks are parked on the other.
It was revealed last week that Beatrix, a healthy eating grab-and-go location and coffeehouse, will be coming into Disney Springs and taking the place of Bongos.
