If you’re heading to Magic Kingdom and looking to enjoy the wildest ride in the wilderness this May, you could be disappointed. For nearly three weeks, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is going to be down as it undergoes refurbishment.
Thunder Mountain is scheduled to close in Magic Kingdom beginning on May 4, 2020, and stay closed through May 21. It is tentatively scheduled to reopen to all guests on May 22, 2020.
There has been no word on what work will be done to Thunder Mountain, but it most likely won’t be any kind of serious work or change.
Please note that dates are subject to change and can without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.
