This may not matter to more than the 487 members that are currently in it, but Club 33 at Disneyland will be closing at the beginning of October of this year for a refurbishment.
As of now, the refurb is tentatively scheduled to begin on Oct. 1, 2013, for an unspecified length of time.
Word is that the refurbishment is going to be a rather large renovation which will bring about a bigger kitchen, new lounge, and correcting some other issues. It is reported that it will be similar to Club 1901 over in Disney California Adventure.
Once the refurbishment is done, Club 33’s square footage is expected to be doubled.
Anaheim.com reports that in order to do this, the cherished trophy room will close. It isn’t known if it will be relocated, closed completely, or changed, but something will happen.
The miraculous glass elevator is not ADA compliant so that will have to change some. A new entrance to the lobby will be constructed in the Court Des Angels.
Club 33 is an incredibly private club and restaurant that is only accessible to its 487 members, and sometimes a guest or two of theirs. The waiting list was closed back in April 2007, but it is still 14 years long.
An initiation fee for Club 33 comes in the sum of $9500 and there are yearly dues of $3,175.
