For those that aren’t thrilled about the FASTPass+ system coming to Walt Disney World, you’re not going to be happy about this either. Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom is the first, and so far the only, dining location to put FASTPass+ into operation.
This could end up making the standby lunch line outside a little longer and the wait even more, but that remains to be seen.
It is still in the testing phase though, and the DisneyFoodBlog was able to experience it first-hand.
For guests staying at at Walt Disney World Resort, – as it has not yet been accessible by any other guests – making a FASTPass+ reservation at be Our Guest works in the same way as making one for an attraction.
You log into My Disney Experience (MDE) and then get options of different days for lunch and arriving in a 15-minute window. Then, you have the options of:
- FASTPass+ Direct To Table: Completing your meal order in advance so that it is ready for you as you arrive.
- FASTPass+ Expedited Arrival: Skipping the line outside and going directly into the restaurant
“Direct To Table” allows guests to order their entire meal before arriving for lunch as well. The full lunch menu will come up with options and nutritional value also. Changes to your meal choices could be made via MDE and also to your dining time, if available.
Upon arriving, you must check in at an appointed spot you’ll be given when you make your FASTPass+ reservation for Be Our Guest Restaurant. You’ll then be given a yellow rose instead of a red rose and you’re set to go.
DisneyFoodBlog tested changing your meal choice at the door. They were able to change one of the meals, but it isn’t possible at all times or with all choices.
All in all, it is said that the time from check-in until food was placed down at the table was less than 10 minutes. There seem to be no complaints and it all is working well, but it certainly may not please those waiting in line outside.
