There is a lot to be said about Disney’s MyMagic+ regarding the full roll-out, FASTPass+, and options for non-resort guests. Here is a full update of the latest news for Disney’s Next Generation technology.
Please remember that the majority of things are still in testing phases and can change at any time. These updates are the latest and most current news, but are subject to change.
~ Word is that the “My Disney Experience” website and mobile apps will be reworked in the coming months. While many positive things are already there; some guests have had issues with the slow access and some technical glitches that don’t always respond to changes made.
~ FASTPass+ access to non-resort guests will continue to other parks as it has already been tested at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It is expected that all guests will have access to FASTPass+ by Spring of 2014.
For non-resort guests, they will not receive MagicBands, but will be able to make FASTPass+ reservations using their RFID-enabled park tickets. They will touch them to sensors and use the same way as MagicBands.
Non-resort guests will also not be able to make FASTPass+ reservations ahead of time, but can make them upon entry to Disney parks by using the FASTPass+ kiosks spread around.
~ It is expected, but not confirmed, that FASTPass+ selections will soon work with park hopping and make FP+ selections at multiple parks on a single day possible.
~ It is expected that the limit of three FP+ selections per day will remain in place for all guests (resort and non-resort).
~ Once FP+ is accessible to all guests and testing is over, the Legacy FASTPass machines with paper tickets will be shut down and removed.
~ Barring any kind of major setbacks, the full roll-out for MyMagic+ is expected to happen by late Spring of 2014.
