A few days ago, it was shown over the Doctor Disney Facebook Page that the Dream Lights on Cinderella Castle were starting to be installed. We all knew that meant the crane was on the way and that it would soon be in place for the rest of the installation. Now, the dates are set.
As of this morning, Sept. 8, 2014, the crane to install the Dream Lights is in place in Fantasyland, behind Cinderella Castle. The lights usually take two weeks to fully put up and around the castle.
With that being said, the installation of the Dream Lights is currently scheduled to take place until Sept. 21, 2014, per a source of mine from the Magic Kingdom.
As we all know, rain and bad weather can delay the installation of the Dream Lights and cause the crane to be in place for a longer period of time, if necessary. Expect the crane and workers to be in place for at least two weeks, and possibly longer if there are any issues hindering them from continuing work on a certain day.
So yes, this does mean that the crane will be in place for a couple of weeks and in the background of those taking pictures in front of Cinderella Castle. No, there’s nothing that can be done about it and it’s truly necessary in order to prepare for the upcoming holiday season.
