Time to file one in the “crazy” category as a woman has filed a lawsuit against Disney stating that they have stolen from her. Her lawsuit claims that they stole a story from her and created a movie based on her autobiography. That movie happens to be “Frozen.”
Yes, Isabella Tanikumi is claiming that the money-making machine known as Disney’s “Frozen” is not based on the fairy tale “The Snow Queen” from Hans Christian Anderson. She says it is based on her autobiography that tells a very similar tale.
Her lawsuit isn’t a tiny one either as she realizes how successful “Frozen” is in the world today. Tanikumi’s lawsuit is for $250 million.
According to Tanikumi, her 2010 autobiography is essentially what “Frozen” – the highest grossest animated film of all time – was turned into. Her book details her time growing up in Peru in the Andean mountains.
She said that Disney has not only copied the story of her life and turned it into “Frozen” but also plagiarized the characters and plot lines.
An Amazon synopsis of “Yearnings of the Heart” describes it as a “compelling, introspective account of the life of Isabella Tanikumi, who takes her readers on a journey through various phases of her remarkable life – from her family’s survival during the devastating earthquake of 1970 in Huaraz, Peru, to the trials of overcoming heartbreaks of her youth. Conquering personal insecurities led to exploring the reaches of her intellect while facing the tragic, and untimely death of her beloved sister Laura.”
It may be needless to say but there is no talking snowman, no inquisitive reindeer, no eternal winter, and no singing trolls.
Hey! “Frozen” was about MY life! When I was growing up it used to get cold and snow! Blast you Disney!!
I’m with you on this one….
This is what we get when we allow the legal system to run rampant with bullsh*t lawsuits. I hope the judge dismisses this immediately as a waste of the courts time.
