On Tuesday morning, it was a huge day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as the Star Wars Launch Bay officially opened for all to see. We were there this morning for the opening and got full pictures and info on all that is going on with “The Force” at Walt Disney World.
Located in the old Magic of Disney Animation building in the Animation Courtyard, the Star Wars Launch Bay had its first day of operation on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015. The version in Disneyland opened about two weeks ago.

Inside, Guests can choose their side and do a meet-and-greet with either Chewbacca or Darth Vader.
Chewbacca and Darth Vader are there from park opening to park closing. It does look like there will be a FASTPass+ option in the future, but there isn’t as of now.
There is a Disney Chase Visa meet-and-greet for Darth Vader for those that are cardholders. You must have your card with you and for now, there is just a separate line you can get into it. By the end of this week, Cast Members said there will be a separate room for Disney Chase Visa cardholders to go into before meeting Vader.
There are posters and Star Wars memorabilia spread all around the Launch Bay including in the different rooms, the outside queue line, and all over the place.
There is also a room for those that want to try out the new Star Wars characters in Disney Infinity.
Upon exiting the Star Wars Launch Bay, you can step right into the Launch Bay Cargo store and purchase just about anything imaginable.
Be careful upon exiting…you may end up being caught in the sight of some Stormtroopers.
The Star Wars Launch Bay is honestly…it’s incredibly awesome. Head over to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and take it in, but for the time being…I highly recommend arriving at park opening to avoid the lines…especially for the meet-and-greet.
