With many new dining locations opening at Disney Springs, it appears as if some of the older restaurants have run their course. Bongos Cuban Cafe is going to be closing later this year, but the official announcement has not yet been made.
Employees at Bongos have been told that the restaurant is going to be closing at some point later in 2019. An exact date is not yet known. While unconfirmed, there are reportedly plans to relocate Bongos to the new Margaritaville Resort.
Bongos Cuban Cafe opened in 1997 and has been a staple on the West Side for more than two decades. Jaleo did just recently open next door to it and the Disney Springs food trucks are parked on the other.
There is expected to be a brand new restaurant taking over the Bongos’ space. No further details are known as of this time. Until Disney or Bongos makes an official announcement, anything is subject to change.
