Guest Suing Walt Disney World For Being Injured After Bird ‘Dive-Bombed’ Her

A guest filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company after an incident in which she said she suffered severe brain injuries. The woman said she was injured by a wild bird which attacked her while at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort in Walt Disney World back in 2017.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Lisa Dixon, of Celebration, Florida, is suing Disney for claims that she suffered the severe brain injuries back in May of 2017. Her lawsuit claims that Disney knew of seasonal nesting birds which could be dangerous to humans who were near them.

The lawsuit states that a bird “dive-bombed” Dixon and hit her in the head with the force of a baseball. Not only did the bird cause her to have herniated discs in her neck but she also suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Surgeries will be needed per Thomas Schmitt who is Dixon’s attorney. Dixon claims the injury suffered during the bird attack has totally changed her life by altering her personality and affecting her ability to focus.

Schmitt stated that Walt Disney World has failed to warn guests of the dangerous birds and that the dock at the Polynesian Village is unsafe. The lawsuit claims that there need to be signs posted to warn of the bird dangers.

Disney has said nothing more than they will respond to the allegations in court.

Lisa Dixon is seeking damages in excess of $15,000 for medical billing and suffering. The exact species of bird is not known.
