Storybook Circus at the Magic Kingdom had its soft opening on Monday, March 12, 2012 and it seems to be staying operational from park open until park close so if you’ve got the chance to get over there, make sure you do. There are only three attractions currently open in the area though and that is the Walt Disney World Fantasyland Railroad Station, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and The Great Goofini Barnstormer.
Tuesday night was a great time to get a number of nighttime pics of the new area including the redone mini-rollercoaster themed with the Goof. Actually, the ride itself has not changed at all with the track staying the same and nothing being sped up, slowed down, or anything in between. So don’t go in expecting the new design to bring about the second coming of Big Thunder Mountain or anything.
The biggest changes though come in the actual theming around the attraction that has been changed from the down home farm to a circus theme. There are targets and rockets and all kinds of other things that bring it into play for the Storybook Circus. Make sure to take a look at the old-time looking posters spread around the area because they bring back characters from classic Disney cartoons starring Goofy.
