MyMagic+ MagicBands set to begin soft-testing this week in Walt Disney World

Disney is doing a lot to jump right into the NextGen phases for the parks as Walt Disney World will begin testing the MyMagic+ MagicBands this week.

A limited number of guests will receive the MagicBands during a small trial period beginning later this upcoming week. It is expected that these guests will get the full treatment with the bands including:

  • Touch-To-Enter theme park tickets
  • Touch-To-Pay at shops and QSRs
  • Touch-To-Use FASTPass+
  • Touch-To-Enter resort room access

Test Track at Epcot will be the first attraction to have the MagicBands tested for FASTPass+ use.

Standard MagicBands will come in a variety of colors including black, red, blue, pink, yellow, and green. Disney has also stated that special designer wristbands will be available at an additional cost.

Should the test go off without a hitch, the complete and full debut of MagicBands for all guests and MyMagic+ is expected to happen throughout the rest of 2013.

As you may already know, half of the turnstiles at all four Walt Disney World parks have already been turned into the Touch-To-Enter variety.
