Disney Cruise Line bringing ‘Holidays on the High Seas’ this year – Christmas

Yesterday, Disney Cruise Line announced their new “Holidays on the High Seas” coming out this year, and spoke all about Halloween. Now, it is time to reveal what DCL is planning to do for those that are looking to sail during the Christmas holiday season.

The Christmas celebrations will begin as follows:

  • Nov. 9, 2013 – Disney Fantasy and Disney Wonder
  • Nov. 10, 2013 – Disney Dream and Disney Magic

Some of the awesome events that guests will be able to take part in are gingerbread-house building, meetings with Santa Claus, and storytelling times with tales of Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa.

From the Disney Parks Blog:

These voyages ignite holiday cheer from the very first night at “King Triton’s Tree Lighting Ceremony,” where a young guest will help light the three-deck-tall tree in the ship’s atrium lobby. The celebration takes on a tropical flair during the “Deck the Deck Holiday Party,” where you can do the “Yuletide Slide” with Mickey and friends, show off your hula hooping skills and limbo under oversized candy canes.

Sailing on Thanksgiving? Prepare for an extra dose of holiday magic, because we’re celebrating “turkey day” with a bountiful feast and Disney friends – and plenty of NFL football games, of course! On Christmas sailings, you’ll find surprises from Santa himself, caroling crew members and a traditional Christmas dinner that night. And celebrate New Year’s Eve on the high seas at a party with music, sparkling wine and a midnight countdown.

Castaway Cay is going to be decked out for Christmas as well. There will be the giant tree and holiday island tunes of course, but one of the newest – and coolest – things will be…snow flurries!
