Guest reports possible electrical fire at Winnie the Pooh attraction in Magic Kingdom

Winnie the Pooh fireAn interesting note from the Magic Kingdom on the evening of Sunday, Sept. 1, 2013, as guests and Cast Members were filing out of The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh due to a possible electrical fire.

Doctor Disney reader Barbara sent the following picture that was taken at the attraction around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday night. She said that all Cast Members were outside of the adjoining building and had to be evacuated from the attraction as well as Storybook Treats.

There were reports of an odor of electrical smoke. Reedy Creek, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and Disney security were all present.

Guests that were walking by or attempting to get on the attraction were told, “Pooh spilled honey on the tracks and we are just taking the time to clean it up.”

It was overheard from Cast Members standing around that all connected buildings had to be evacuated in case of “spreading.”

There are no reports of injuries and the attraction is in full working order today.
