Seven Dwarfs Mine Train completes another milestone with test drop

Seven Dwarfs Mine TrainJust a week ago, there was new information revealed about the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train including the height requirement and that the team had completed the attraction’s first push/pull test. Now, the team has hit a new milestone meaning we are ever closer to an opening.

Imagineers and Design & Engineering performed the first completed drop test on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, and that is fantastic news.

For those that have walked around the Fantasyland construction site, it is obvious that more and more details are being completed around the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

With the high walls though, it isn’t easy to see exactly what is happening in the middle of the construction site. Knowing that this test drop was completed is a great step toward the new portion of Fantasyland being completed.

It is still being reported that the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will debut in “early 2014.” There is no actual set date for its grand opening though.

  1. What is a “push/pull test” & a “drop test” ?

    • Push/Pull test is tying a rope to a train and pulling/pushing it through the entire attraction on a completed track.

The Drop test is taking a mine cart and letting it actually free fall down one of the big drops.
