Full report from my trip aboard the Disney Dream with info and pics

Disney Cruise LineEveryone always seems to ask so now I’m going to make sure that these get done with each sailing and it is a full trip report of my Disney Cruise Line excursions.

On Sept. 19, 2013, I took off on the 3-night cruise aboard the Disney Dream. It was my eighth Disney Cruise total and also within the course of a year. It was my sixth time on the Disney Dream and I’ve also been on the Disney Fantasy once and the Disney Wonder once as well.

There are a lot of pictures in the slideshow below so check them all out. Also, if you see a few pics with a helicopter in them…that is not normal. Disney was filming a commercial for a week on the Dream and a helicopter would fly around the ship a good bit to get some shots.

Details on this cruise:

  • Disney Dream out of Port Canaveral
  • Sept. 19, 2013 – Board
  • Sept.  22, 2013 – Deboard
  • Day One out of Port Canaveral
  • Day two stopped in Nassau
  • Day three stopped at Castaway Cay – Disney’s private island

This may need to be something I end up explaining to those not familiar with it, but Disney Cruise Line works with rotational dining. There are three main restaurants on board the ships and you eat at a different one each night. The order for this cruise was:

  • Animator’s Palate
  • Enchanted Garden
  • Royal Palace

Only on this trip, I ended up skipping Animator’s Palace and eating at the 18-and-over restaurant known as Palo. It is by far one of my favorite restaurants anywhere, and I never miss it. It does require a separate reservation and it is a $20 charge for each adult.

The weather was totally beautiful for the entire trip and even slightly cool on the day out at Castaway Cay. I didn’t get off of the ship for the day in Nassau, and actually never do. It’s a great day to stay on board while so many others venture out and leave the boat a bit less crowded in the pool areas and such.

Shows watched while on board:

  • Night One – Golden Mickeys
  • Night Two – Villains Tonight
  • Night Three – Believe

Really do believe that I’m going to have to do some “Doctor Disney Explains” articles so that everyone can know exactly what some of the things talked about in my cruise reports are.

All in all, it was another great trip aboard the Disney Cruise Line. Have to admit, the three-night is a bit short for me, but still fun.
