Couple secretly weds on Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Disneyland

Pirates of the Caribbean weddingA lot of people try to get away with things on different Disney attractions, but one couple actually got away with an ultimate accomplishment…they got married. That’s right, KSL reported on Oct. 18, 2013, that a couple secretly got married on the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Disneyland.

Troy Elegante dreamed of getting married at Disneyland his entire life and his fiance said that was OK by her. After proposing at Lake Tahoe in July, he started planning.

“I was just kind of along for the ride,” Nikki said. “He planned everything. I just showed up.”

After the second hill in POTC, Tory’s co-worker and friend performed the ceremony.

“It kind of quiets down there in the cave a little bit and he gave a two minute ceremony and we exchanged rings on the boat,” Tory said. “By the time we were to the big cannon ship battle, we were already married.”

Tory asked the attraction operator for a boat with just his friends and family, and the Cast Member obliged.

On Sept. 19, 2013, Tory had on a tuxedo t-shirt and his fiance Nikki had on a Minnie Mouse t-shirt, and they got married with their children (from previous marriages) present. Their kids were happy they didn’t have a boring wedding.

“Just getting to do that was like a dream come true, and I got to marry this beautiful, beautiful woman and now we get to have this life together forever and ever and we got to get married in Disneyland,” Tory said. “There’s no way I can describe any more perfection than that.”

Tory is a true Disney fan and that is evident by his Disneyland wedding invitations that said the ceremony would start at 10:33 a.m. as POTC sits next to Club 33 on 33 Royal Street.

The happily married couple’s next trip to Disneyland is scheduled for Christmas Eve.
