We all knew it was coming and now we have a date. FASTPass+ will be opening to all guests, on and off site, in the Magic Kingdom on Jan. 14, 2014.
The remaining dates for full MagicBand roll-out at Walt Disney World Resorts was just unveiled last week, but Disney is moving forward quickly with other things as well. This started at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in December, and now Magic Kingdom is the next to follow suit.
Walt Disney World Resort guests will see no change in how they have been doing things for months now.
Now, that means a few things and here is what you need to know:
- Non-resort guests will be able to make same-day FASTPass+ reservations by using in-park kiosks
- Non-resort guests will not receive MagicBands, but will use their RFID-chipped park ticket cards
- Non-resort guests will not be able to make changes using MyDisney Experience, just the kiosks
This also means that as of Jan. 14, 2014, Legacy FASTPass tickets (original paper machines) will be discontinued to all guests, resort and non-resort.
