In a sad piece of news, PUSH the Talking Trash Can is no more at the Magic Kingdom.
As of Feb. 8, 2014, the talking trash can that followed around guests and spoke with them…appeared and performed for the very last time.
Disney has confirmed that the radio-controlled trash can robot is gone after the contract between them and Real Simple Ideas expired. Real Simple is the company that owns PUSH.
That contract was not renewed.
Daniel Deutsch, inventor of PUSH, said that he would have loved for the robot to keep entertaining guests, but there was “some ambiguity to the verbiage as to what they owned and what I owned.”
The silver and blue Tomorrowland-themed trash can has been in the park for 19 years and entertained guests in numerous ways.
Now, it is gone and the Disney-fan World is doing everything they can to bring him back.
Twitter tags are trending with #SavePush and #BringBackPush.
There is also a Facebook page to Save PUSH and it has almost 10,000 followers.
