Firefighters Sing ‘Let It Go’ to Calm Girl Stuck In Elevator

Firefighters sing 'Let It Go'Disney’s “Frozen” has brought about great attention and that especially holds true for the hit song, ‘Let It Go.” Well, some help was needed for a little girl that was stuck in an elevator so she had some firefighters sing ‘Let It Go’ to keep her calm.

Kristen Kerr was about to head to her hair salon in Reading, Massachusetts, last week, when the elevator taking her to the second floor stalled and got stuck. Inside that elevator with her was her infant song Jackson and four-year-old daughter, Kaelyn.

Firefighters were quickly on the scene and got into the shaft above the elevator to rescue the family, but upon lowering a ladder into the elevator…Kaelyn froze and wouldn’t move.

It was obvious that Kaelyn waas scared and the firefighters began trying to calm her down. They started talking to her about her favorite movies and learned she had seen Disney’s “Frozen” more than a dozen times.

That was the key.

Firefighters Scott Myette and John Keough both have young children and figured that she also loved the music from the movie as their kids do. With that, Kaelyn had the firefighters sing ‘Let It Go” and it ended up starting to calm her down.

“I’m slightly embarrassed to admit this, but yeah, I pretty much knew all of [the words],” Myette told NBC News.

“It’s not a bad song, it just gets stuck in your head a bit.”

Kaelyn’s mom began laughing hysterically at the strong firefighters singing the Disney song so gently to her daughter, but it worked.

The young girl became very relaxed and it was enough to allow the firefighters to pick her up and carry her up the ladder and out of the elevator.

“It was easily one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen in my life,” Kaelyn’s mother, Kristin Kerr, told Today. “They understood how to calm down a 4-year-old.”

Never underestimate the power of Disney.
