Two major refurbishments for the Magic Kingdom have been pushed back to later in the year, and they are for a big reason. Due to the 24-hour event in late May, the refurbishments of Astro Orbiter and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority will now happen during the summer.
First of all, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover (Wedway) will now go under refurbishment beginning on June 2, 2014, and through Aug. 4, 2014.
It is tentatively scheduled to reopen to guests on Aug. 5, 2014.
Secondly, the Astro Orbiter will now go under refurbishment from June 2, 2014, and through Sept. 19, 2014.
It is tentatively scheduled to reopen to guests on Sept. 20, 2014.
Originally, the TTA was going to go down in early May and reopen at the beginning of July. Astro Orbiter had been scheduled for its refurbishment also beginning on May 3, 2014, but coming back in late August.
These refurbishments have been pushed back
Carousel of Progress is still scheduled to have its refurbishment from Aug. 25, 2014, through Sept. 4, 2014.
