Three weeks ago, Tom Staggs – Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts – stated that MyMagic+ would be getting some upgrades soon. He stated that guests would soon be able to get more than three FASTPass+ selections in a day and also park hop with them, and now Disney has released the date for all that to begin.
It has now been confirmed that on Monday, April 28, 2014, it will all start. Per Staggs:
So starting Monday, after guests have used their first three FastPass+ selections, they will be able to select another one at one of the kiosks located in each of our WDW parks. When they’ve used that one, they’ll be able to select another, and so on, ultimately providing guests with even more ways to customize their Walt Disney World Vacation. Guests will also be able to select and use their additional FastPass+ entitlements when they hop from park to park.
MyMagic+ is going to continue to evolve per Staggs, and it certainly appears as if they are listening to the requests of guests.
What many fail to realize is that Disney is still in a testing mode with FASTPass+, MyMagic+, My Disney Experience, and Magic Bands. As testing continues, they are able to improve and add so that the requests and complaints of guests are addressed.
Now, according to the report from Disney, there is no telling if you will be able to use your My Disney Experience app to make the extra FASTPass+ selections. It appears though, that the first three selections will be used at one park and then the additional can be made while park hopping.
We will know more by Monday, and I’ll be at the parks on Monday to test it all out and then give a full report of everything once going through all the steps.
