The schedule of events for the 25th anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios was just announced yesterday, but today, more info has come out. This has to do with the parking and entrance closure situation for that big day on May 1, 2014.
Let it be known that things could change, but this is the plan that is currently going to be in place for the day of the 25th anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The secondary entrance to the parking lot – on Buena Vista Drive opposite Disney’s Boardwalk Inn – is going to close at 3:00 p.m. on May 1, 2014.
From that point on, until park close, only the main entrance off of World Drive will remain open. After 3:00 p.m., the only way to enter into the parking lot of Disney’s Hollywood Studios would be through the main entrance.
Traffic is going to be very heavy on this day, at least that is what Disney is expecting for the 25th anniversary, and I believe it.
Last year in September, the “Unleash the Villains” event had traffic backed up for miles and it was an overwhelming mess with the unexpected crowds. Disney appears to not want to repeat what happened on that night for the 25th anniversary.
Let it be known, the park will likely reach capacity at some point during the day and the 25th anniversary merchandise is not likely to last all day. My advice is to get there early and stick around.
