We all knew it was coming and it has long been reported to be happening in “early summer,” but Disney has since confirmed it. The Festival of The Lion King in Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be reopening in June.
An exact date has not yet been announced, but the official return time-age is sometime in June.
Disney has stated that the very popular musical show will officially move to its new home in the Africa section of the park.
Festival of The Lion King tells the famed tale of Simba as he learns what it is like to be king, and it is done with songs, dancing, acrobatics, and so much more.
The Festival of The Lion King temporarily shut down earlier this year as it had to be relocated from its original home over in Camp Minnie-Mickey.
Camp Minnie-Mickey is now no more as that whole area is being done over for Avatar Land which will be opening in the coming years. While there is a wait for that, Festival of The Lion King is going to be back soon and better than ever.
