Walt Disney World certainly seems to be expecting some large crowds for this year’s 24-hour “Rock Your Disney Side” event at the Magic Kingdom. Hours have now been extended for two other parks to help compensate what are likely going to be huge amounts of people.
On Friday, May 23, 2014, Magic Kingdom will be opening at 6:00 a.m. and staying open until 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2014.
Now, on that Friday, Epcot is going to stay open for all guests until midnight. This means that the originally scheduled Extra Magic Hours until 11:00 p.m. are no longer, and all guests (Disney Resort or non) will be able to stay late in the park.
For the same “Rock Your Disney Side” day, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is going to have Extra Magic Hours beginning at normal park close of 11:00 p.m. The Extra Magic Hours will extend until 1:00 a.m. from Friday into Saturday.
“Rock Your Disney Side” is certainly shaping up to be incredibly big for Disney, and it appears as if record numbers of people are expected.
If you’re looking to get into the parks for that “Rock Your Disney Side” day, I’d recommend getting there early and not leaving the parks…especially for Magic Kingdom.
There is a very good chance that some phase closings will be taking place throughout the day and gates being closed for some times.
