With the end of the 2014 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, that means the alcoholic Dole Whip was going to be back on the shelf possibly until the 2014 International Food & Wine Festival. Well, it appears as if that won’t be the case as the Dole Whip is now at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The DisneyFoodBlog reported on May 24, 2014, that Tamu-Tamu Refreshments in Animal Kingdom will begin serving Dole Whips…this weekend.
Yes, you heard that right. And here we thought all the talk this weekend would be about the Rock Your Disney Side Party with the Villains.
As the alcoholic Dole Whip leaves Epcot, it arrives at Tamu-Tamu Refreshments at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Here’s how things are going with this version.
There will be no floats like there are at Aloha Isle in the Magic Kingdom, but there is a big twist for those that decide to get the cool treat at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The DAK Dole Whip can be gotten with alcohol ala this year’s Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, and there are two options:
- Dark rum
- Coconut rum
DFB believes that the new Dole Whips will be smaller than those that were served at Epcot and prices will be as such:
- Regular Dole Whip – $4.04
- Alcohol Dole Whip – $6.09
It appears as if this new (old) treat at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is going to become an everyday staple and not a limited time thing.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom has a lot going on with Harambe Nights, Festival of the Lion King about to reopen, Rivers of Light, and more, so this news about the Dole Whip is just another big step in bringing more attention to DAK. Well, it is certainly working.
