Festival of The Lion King Begins Cast Previews Friday

Festival of the Lion King HarambeSo many have been waiting for Festival of The Lion King to reopen back at Disney’s Animal Kingdom ever since it closed back in January. It was just revealed a couple weeks ago that it would officially reopen in June, but no exact date was set.

Well, Cast Member previews are now set for Festival of The Lion King in its new location, and that means guests will likely be in the new theater soon.

Cast Member previews for Festival of The Lion King are scheduled for Friday, May 30, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the brand new Harambe Theatre.

This is subject to change, but a source has passed this information onto me for the cast previews of Festival of The Lion King.

Cast previews generally mean that attractions will be opening to guests soon, but there is still no confirmed date.  Disney originally said “summer 2014” and then whittled it down to “June 2014.”

Festival of The Lion King closed back in early January in its original home in Cap Minnie-Mickey. That whole section of Animal Kingdom is no longer there as construction is underway for other projects such as Avatar Land.

Cast Members will not be allowed to take pictures or record any of the Festival of The Lion King so there will likely be no images appearing from the previews. Disney is usually pretty strict with rules when it comes to new shows and such, so there likely won’t be anything from these previews.

Hopefully, the popular Festival of The Lion King will be back open to all guests soon and we can all enjoy the new Harambe Theatre.

Comments

  1. I’ve heard June 1st for reopening…

  2. Exciting news. Guess I have to keep a sharp eye out for the possibility of seeing this when we are there the middle of June. As always, thanks for the heads up.
