A number of people have contacted me asking what I knew about Disney calling them about their reservations at Be Our Guest Restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. It appears there has been a great deal of confusion as to what exactly is going on so Doctor Disney went straight to the source to figure out what’s going on.
First of all, many people told me a number was calling them advising them they needed to move their future Be Our Guest reservation and select a different night for dinner or choose a lunch reservation. Well, the problem there is that lunch doesn’t accept reservations at Be Our Guest, but they do have FASTPass+ options.
Numerous people are concerned about this situation and wondering why Disney would be doing this or even curious if it is a scam like many of the fake Disney Facebook pages.
One of the numbers that had been contacting guests was 407-560-7315. Upon trying to call it back, it says it cannot receive calls.
A message was being left stating to call 407-560-3480 which leads to a Disney Guest Services line.
Well, I went straight to Be Our Guest Restaurant and spoke with numerous Cast Members and Team Leaders (supervisors) along with guest services. Here is what I’ve found out:
~ Disney is indeed contacting a number of guests who have dinner reservations on dates from September through December on nights when there are Mickey’s Not Scary Halloween Parties and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Parties. Guests are being advised that if they aren’t attending the parties (via separately purchased tickets), they won’t be able to make their dining reservations.
~ A special event is being held at Be Our Guest Restaurant sometime in mid-October and for those few nights, Disney is contacting guests to advise them that their dining reservations will need to be changed.
~ The options being given to guests are to change their Be Our Guest reservation to another night. If that does not work for them or they refuse that option, guests are then being given the option of getting a FASTPass+ reservation for lunch at Be Our Guest.
For those that aren’t entirely comfortable with the situation at hand, don’t go cancelling your dining reservation at Be Our Guest just yet. For any confusion and to make sure that your dining reservations are able to be made and attended, please contact 407-WDW-DINE.
What is this special event that you referenced? Is that only the MNSSHP or another special event? I have two dinner reservations both night of a party. I haven’t received a call yet….crossing my fingers!!!
The special event isn’t necessarily for ALL guests. From what I’ve heard, it is a private event.
