For those that are planning on taking advantage of Disney bus transportation for an upcoming trip, there are some changes you need to be aware of. These changes to the Disney bus system will require you to make some changes to plans and getting around…especially at Downtown Disney and Typhoon Lagoon.
First, the Downtown Disney bus stop on the Pleasure Island side is going to be closing permanently sometime near the middle of this month. An unconfirmed date is June 11, 2014, for the closure.
Due to Disney Springs construction going on, the Pleasure Island side Disney bus stop just isn’t going to have much accessibility and therefore will be gone. For the time being, the Disney bus stop on the Marketplace side is operational.
Upon completion of Disney Springs in 2016, a new location for Disney bus transportation will open.
Second, the Disney bus stop situation for Typhoon Lagoon is a bit more complicated.
Beginning on June 10, 2014, bus service to and from Typhoon Lagoon after 2:00 p.m. is going to be available only at Epcot.
For those heading over to Typhoon Lagoon, you will need to first get to Epcot via Disney bus or monorail or boat, and then change to a bus for the water park.
When it comes time to leave Typhoon Lagoon via Disney bus transportation, you will need to take a bus to Epcot. From there, you can take another bus or monorail or boat to your final destination.
Remember, this is only for the routes after 2:00 p.m.
The issues with Typhoon Lagoon’s Disney bus transportation is also due to the construction for Disney Springs. A completion date has not yet been announced.
