Broadway Cast of ‘The Lion King’ Sings ‘Circle of Life’ On New York Subway and It’s Amazing

Circle of Life The Lion KingRemember back in April when the Australian cast of “The Lion King” decided to break out into a chorus of “Circle of Life” on a plane? Well, the Broadway cast didn’t want to have a light shine brighter than their abilities, so they decided to do the same.

Only, the Broadway cast broke out into “Circle of Life” while on a crowded New York subway.

Needless to say it really, but the outcome of this little stunt is spectacular.

As you can see by a number of passengers on the train, this was totally unexpected and even frightened some of them with that awesomely opening note.

It happened just recently on June 28, 2014, on “A” train subway car in New York City.

The performance of “Circle of Life” was done by close to 30 cast members of the Broadway show, and it was just a great treat for the midday riders.

An interesting note is that the New York City subway system served over one billion riders in 2013. In 2013, “The Lion King” became the first ever Broadway show to hit $1 billion.
