There has been so much talk lately as to what is going to happen to Maelstrom in the Norway Pavilion in Epcot, but nothing has yet to be confirmed or denied. One thing that is known as fact is that FASTPass+ reservations for Maelstrom cease to exist near the end of September.
We don’t know for sure that Maelstrom will turn into a “Frozen”-themed attraction by the end of the year, but more and more clues point…well, at least in the way of some kind of change.
If you’re trying to get FASTPasses for Maelstrom, then you can make them through Sept. 27, 2014, but not after.
I’ve been able to check outward to Oct. 9, 2014, and they are not available to be made through that date. After Sept. 27, 2014, it disappears.
There is no listing or announcement from Disney that Maelstrom is being refurbished either.
Now, when something is being refurbished…the FASTPass+ option for it will still be listed, but it will have text in red that states: “Closed for Refurbishment on Selected Day.”
In this regard, Maelstrom is completely gone and no longer even listed in one of the tiers of FASTPass+ selections at Epcot.
Again, this doesn’t prove anything and nothing has been confirmed or announced or anything like that. But, it could be in your best interest to get a ride or two in on Maelstrom before Sept. 27, 2014, as there could be the chance it won’t be around after that.
Well, maybe not in its current form.
Now, I can’t see past Oct. 9, 2014, at this time. It could show back up or Maelstrom may be there the day after, but I’ve gone to my limit for as far as I can reach on the FASTPass+ selection screens.
I’d snag this shirt before tomorrow is over as well because it could end up as a bit of a collector’s item.
