Recently, the Tomorrowland Transit Authority aka TTA aka Wedway at the Magic Kingdom reopened after a few months in refurbishment. With it being back in operation for guests in Tomorrowland, it’s gotten a brand new look even though little else has changed.
Since reopening about a week and a half ago, Wedway now has a new reddish and orange look to it. It’s actually a look/color scheme that is reminiscent to the Tomorrowland of many years ago.
Astro Orbiter‘s elevator shaft has also been painted in the red color.
Riding Wedway, you’ll notice that things have been cleaned and shined and all sounds better. Nothing has been changed in the narration as far as I could tell, and the ride is a bit smoother.
The turntable at the top of the platform was lifted up and some things were fixed underneath it. Up there, the braces and supports are also painted the red color which looks really good.
When taking the pictures below, the walkway leading up to Wedway’s platform was having some issues and therefore was being worked on.
One has to wonder if the red is the final color or if the orange is the final color. It’s a little mismatch so it’s hard to think this is the finished product, but it’s possible. The red/orange doesn’t match the blue and teal colors of the rest of Tomorrowland so it’s believed – but not confirmed – that more changes will be coming to this particular land in the Magic Kingdom soon.
Still, it looks like Wedway and Tomorrowland could be heading back to the look and colors of old. This is something I’m perfectly fine with since the attraction has not really been changed or even worse, taken out entirely.
Not sure I could live without my Wedway.
