Off Kilter and Other Live Entertainment Groups Being Retired From Epcot Next Month

Sad news this morning for many fans of live entertainment at Epcot as reports going around of many of the live entertainment groups being retired is true. While Disney has not yet officially announced it, groups such as Off Kilter and Mo’Rockin will be retired come the end of September 2014.

WDWMagic was one of the sites that reported it, and Doctor Disney has done some asking around and found out from entertainment Cast Members that the news is indeed accurate. Four live entertainment groups will be retired and replace.

The World Showcase Players will have their last performance on Sept. 25, 2014. They are the comedy troupe that performs daily in the United Kingdom.

Sept. 27, 2014, will be the final performances for three other live entertainment groups at Epcot.

Off Kilter, the Celtic rock group in Canada, is the most shocking one as they are quite possibly the most popular live entertainment group ever. Actually, Off Kilter has performed regularly at Epcot for over 15 years.

On that same day, the Spirit of America Fife & Drum Corps will also have its last performance outside the America Pavilion.

Also on Sept. 27, 2014, Mo’Rockin in Morocco will have their very final performance.

Again, no official word has come from Disney yet on the retirements of Off Kilter and others, and it’s possible that anything could change. Still, some CMs are confirming the news to be true and a press release is scheduled to come forth shortly.

There will not be absences in the World Showcase though as other live entertainment is said to be taking the places of the retired acts.

Word is that a lumberjack show will be put into Canada, a Celtic folk music group will be placed in the United Kingdom, Italy will get a corps of dynamic flag-waving performers, and Morocco will have a traditional Berber music and dance group.

It’s going to be interesting to see how these new acts are received, especially since Off Kilter and Mo’Rockin were so popular and well-received by guests.
