Christine Cavanaugh’s face may not be too familiar to many, but everyone knows her voice. Sadly, the iconic voice actress of “Darkwing Duck,” “Dexter’s Laboratory,” “Babe,” and more has passed away
Christine Cavanaugh was just 51-years-old.
There are no real details at this time as to how she died, but it is known that she passed away on Dec. 22, 2014. Her obituary has been printed online.
“She was able to do incredible and amazing things with her voice and bring lots of smiles and many laughs to people who are now young adults,” the clip reads.
Her work is iconic and legendary among the animated world. Disney fans will recognize her as the voice of Gosalyn Mallard from “Darkwing Duck” and other parts in “Aladdin” and “101 Dalmatians: The Series.”
Some of Christine Cavanaugh’s more well-known roles are of Chuckie on the “Rugrats,” Dexter in “Dexter’s Laboratory,” and the pig in the hit movie “Babe.”
Christine Cavanaugh was divorced and had no children. She retired from her vocal career in 2001 so she could be closer to her family and her goddaughter who was the daughter of a close childhood friend.
“Her imagination, humor, and intelligence were evident to anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her,” the obituary reads. “Many know of her from the roles she played, but in each role there was a part of her showing through that the ones who truly knew her could see. The childlike awe of the world, humor to deal with the unpleasantness of reality, strength to deal with the challenges we all face, and intelligence to know when to act or accept what fate had allowed.”
