It used to happen closer to the summer, but last year it went into effect a lot earlier. Rumors are starting to swirl now that the ticket price increases for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland could be coming very soon, and they could come with some changes as well.
Now remember…until officially announced by Disney, there is nothing confirmed to happen.
Some info had come my way recently, but WDWNT put forth a good bit more information regarding the situation.
It was near the end of February last year that ticket prices increased, and I had heard the same thing would happen again this year. The increases for both Walt Disney World and Disneyland won’t be huge, but will go up as what happens annually at just about all theme parks.
Along with the increases though, it appears as if changes are coming too.
The biggest of these is that it is rumored that non-expiration ticket options will finally be discontinued. It has been talked about for years, but never actually became a reality. It seems that could be happening next month.
Those that already have the non-expiration tickets will have them honored, but once the change is said to be in place…no more will be sold.
Also, a Water Park Hopper Ticket add-on is going to be introduced for regular tickets that are purchased by Guests.
Once the official announcement of ticket price increases and changes is announced, it will be reported here at Doctor Disney. Be prepared though, we all knew it was coming.

“non-expiration” tickets? Please explain. You mean annual passes?
Non expiring tickets are up to 10 day tickets that never expire til all used up, unlike normal tickets that expire 14 days after first use or the end of the year, we have tickets bought in 2011 originally 10 day park hoppers with water park option which gave us 10 water park visits, we used 2 days in 2011, 1 in 2012, 4 this year, and still have 3 days left for next time along with 7 water park visits, they raised the price significantly last year to deter people from buying them, somewhere around $775 a ticket now, in 2011 the 10 day, non expire, hopper plus water was $511 for an adult, if I get my tax return back before tickets are discontinued I will be 2 more adult tickets becsuse they are by far the best deal in the long run
Guess Iger’s $46.5 million dollar salary has to be paid for somehow.
I was on the Walt Disney just last week looking to purchase tickets for this summer and the non-expiration option has already been removed from the website.
