Production has officially begun on Pirates of the Caribbean 5 in Australia, and with that, we’ve got some new information. The official title has been released as well as the official plot for what will happen with Jack Sparrow and the rest of the crew.
First of all, the official title for the film is indeed Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, and that is obviously from the famous line in the park attraction.
Johnny Depp is back as is Geoffrey Rush, Kevin R. McNally, and Stephen Graham. They will be joined by newcomers Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario, and Brenton Thwaites.
It is official that Orlando Bloom will not be in the film.
Here is the synopsis for Pirates 5:
“Thrust into an all-new adventure, a down-on-his-luck Captain Jack Sparrow finds the winds of ill-fortune blowing even more strongly when deadly ghost pirates led by his old nemesis, the terrifying Captain Salazar (Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle, determined to kill every pirate at sea…including him. Captain Jack’s only hope of survival lies in seeking out the legendary Trident of Poseidon, a powerful artifact that bestows upon its possessor total control over the seas.”
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales will star Johnny Depp, Javier Bardem, Geoffrey Rush, Kevin R. McNally, Stephen Graham, Kaya Scodelario, and Brenton Thwaites. It is set to hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
