Added Security Measures In Testing For Disney Ticket Entry With Photo ID

MagicBands security measuresWalt Disney World is beginning to test some extra security measures for those that have their RFID and biometric fingerprint authentication fail regularly. It’s currently just in testing at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but it is expected to roll out within the next week and then to all four parks.

It’s pretty much in place just for those that regularly fail with their fingerprint at the turnstiles.

Once the fail happens, Guests will then head over to the park’s Guest Relations and setup a photo ID that will be attached to their ticket. Their identity will be verified by the Cast Member at Guest Relations and the picture taken by Disney will be connected to their My Disney Experience.

With this being done, it will allow Cast Members at the front gates to simply see the digital picture of the Guest and verify them if their fingerprint fails in the future. This will speed up things as Guests won’t need to pull to the side and take out their photo ID to prove who they are.

While that never takes a ton of time, it will speed the process up and it will truly help keep things flowing.

  1. I have eczema on my hands and it often makes my finger prints unrecognizable (at all places not just Disney) so I love that they are putting in a backup plan for people like me.
