Disney Confirms ‘Frozen’ And ‘Star Wars’ Areas For Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Marvel Close Behind?

star wars frozen disneyThere have been rumors and there has been a lot of talk, but finally, Disney has given word as to something that will be happening to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While it isn’t the Cars Land as many thought, there will be both Frozen and Star Wars-themed areas coming to the parks within the next two years.

“With the success of Frozen and the acquisition of LucasFilm, it seems only right that we give these two entities the respect and attention they deserve. Themed areas based on the films and characters we all have come to love will bring new life to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.”

A name change has already been confirmed to be coming for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but the company admits they aren’t abandoning the theme entirely.

Movies are still an integral part of The Disney Company, and the worldwide success of Frozen has brought forth a new animated short and a future sequel. Star Wars brings forth characters that have entertained for decades and will continue to do so for many more.

“Anna, Elsa. Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, R2-D2, Olaf. They all belong together and out for everyone to enjoy.”

Earlier this year, Disney big-up Bob Iger himself said that Star Wars plans for the Disney Parks would be “ambitious” and coming “fairly soon.” Now, we know that “soon” mean by 2017.

With the huge news about the Frozen and Star Wars areas coming to DHS, questions were asked about what advancements would be coming to domestic Disney Parks with Marvel. Many questions remain unanswered as to when something could possibly happen, but their deal with Universal has held them up.

“Let’s just say that it’s a work in progress, but there may be some web-slinging and shield-throwing possible in the next few years.”

A lot has changed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the past year alone. That includes the loss of the Studio Backlot Tour, The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow, and the America Idol Experience, but those things will likely end up at Days of Disney’s Past with so many other cherished favorites. You haven’t seen the last of them yet.

At least for now, there will be more Frozen and Star Wars stuff coming, and you can check out concept art at this link for what’s to come to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It’s out of this world.
