Lots of refurbishments were announced by Disney this week, and there are three Magic Kingdom attractions that will be out of commission for long periods of time in 2016.
First of all, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is going to be closed for refurbishment from Jan. 18 through Feb. 11, 2016. It is tentatively scheduled to reopen to Guests on Feb. 12, 2016.
NOTE: As of Nov. 3, 2015, Buzz Lightyear’s refurbishment has been added back to the official Walt Disney World list. The following two refurbishments were once on it and then quickly removed so they may or may not be added back.
Up next, the Swiss Family Treehouse in Adventureland is going to be closed for a very long time from July 6 through Sept. 24, 2016. It is tentatively scheduled to reopen to Guests on Sept. 25, 2016.
Finally, for those that love heading to Fantasyland, there will be a long refurbishment of an old favorite in the fall.
“it’s a small world” is going down for an almost month-long refurbishment when it is closed from Aug. 22 through Sept. 15, 2016. It is tentatively scheduled to reopen to Guests on Sept. 16, 2016.
Please note that dates are subject to change and can without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.
