For those that love meeting and greeting with Duffy the Disney Bear at Epcot, you may not be able to do it for much longer. Rumor has it that his days to meet Guests in World Showcase are numbered.
Please know that this is not confirmed in any way at all, and has not been announced by Disney.
The Disney Hipster Blog is saying they have heard that Duffy the Disney Bear will be leaving Epcot, and that his last day in the park is going to be Oct. 3, 2015.
Apparently, the Duffy merchandise still sells really well in Epcot and throughout all the Disney Parks. It just seems as if the meet-and-greet location never ends up being popular enough to merit staying open…at least, that’s the rumor.
If he does end up leaving Epcot and his meet-and-greet location on that date in early October, it will be almost five years to the day (Oct. 14, 2010) since his debut.
Now, it’s hard to judge the accuracy of this report as the official page for Duffy’s meet-and-greet on the Disney website has no times listed after Sept. 26, 2015. The same though can be said for Mulan, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and others at Epcot.
We shall see what Disney says and if this ends up being true.
