Another Big Walt Disney World Free Ticket Scam Hits Facebook – How To Spot The Fakes

Yes folks, there is another new Walt Disney World free ticket/vacation scam that is on Facebook. Sure, there are a lot of them, but this is one that’s being passed around and shared a lot again so I’m here to warn you of the problems with it.

Here is the one that’s been passed around a lot lately.

walt disney world facebook scam

Notice something odd about the name? There is a hyphen and a period which means that this is not a legit site at all. That’s also not to mention that the “Verified” blue check mark is nowhere to be found.

Let’s also notice the fact that whomever runs the official Walt Disney World social media pages likely knows how to spell “giveaway.”

Yes, the scam pages take the same profile pictures and even sometimes the same cover photos as the official Walt Disney World Facebook page to try and trick people.

These pages can try to get into your personal info by you sharing the page or hoping you click a link on their page which can lead to computer viruses and tracking malware.

Do not like or comment or share things from pages like this on Facebook. Report them. Tell your friends to report them. If you see someone sharing pictures from this page or others like it, have them delete the post and report the page.

Please avoid this site at all costs and do not click any links on the page or share it on your Facebook profiles. Facebook scam pages like this troll the Internet and prey on people to get info or get into their computers.

Here are some things to look for on Facebook to figure out if you’re looking at a Facebook scam page:

  • Check the actual name of the page and the URL – Usually there are misspellings or added punctuation since they are not “official.”
  • Look at the date founded for the page.
  • Look to see if the page has actually posted anything else at all. If they haven’t, it’s a fake.
  • Any legit page from The Walt Disney Company has the blue VERIFIED checkmark next to its page name.
  • Check to see the contest rules. If they don’t have any, it’s a fake.
  • Ask yourself, is The Walt Disney Company actually sponsoring this giveaway? If not, then there is a 99.99% chance that it is a scam. You will know if Disney is behind it because there will be all kinds of rules, regulations, and disclaimers.
