One of the quickest growing places in the United States is that of Blaze Pizza, and it has now made its way to Disney Springs. The new quick-service restaurant opened up on Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, and let me tell you…there is another awesome new dining location to enjoy.
Every restaurant has a gimmick or theme, and that of Blaze Pizza is quality pizza in a short amount of time. Guests can get their very own customized 11-inch pizza in just a matter of 180 seconds of less.
The thing is…that sounds too good to be true so does it actually work? Upon entering, we were advised of the instructions and directions which were relayed as “Think of it as Subway, but with Pizza.”
That’s exactly what it was as we first told one person what kind of crust we wanted: original dough (thin/flat-bread), high-rise (traditional), and gluten-free dough. From there, you move down the line to the type of sauce and cheese that you would like.
The four options for sauces include classic red sauce, spicy red sauce, white cream sauce, and garlic pesto sauce.
There are nine cheese options with choices today being shredded mozzarella on one pizza and ovalini mozzarella on another pizza. Up next, the toppings!
See how it is kind of like a Subway, but with pizza?
Lots of great toppings to choose from in the meats and vegetables and all of those can be seen on the menu for Blaze Pizza on Disney’s official website. Today’s selections were simply pepperoni on the ovalini mozzarella pie and on the other was smoked ham, pepperoni, Italian sausage, green pepper, and red onion.
After the toppings are put on, the pizza heads into the incredibly hot ovens which allow your pizza to be cooked extremely fast.
180 seconds or less later, your pizza is out of the oven, sliced, and your name is yelled out for you to come pick up your order. Timing it, both pizzas came out within three minutes from the time of finishing the toppings for each to being called.
From there, you can select your seating which is quite abundant inside and there is also some outside.
There are a number of drink options including a variety of sodas, milk, tea, lemonade, beers, and wines. There are also simple salad options which are made fresh daily and a couple of dessert options as well.
Today, it was all about the pizza and let it be known that there was no disappointment to be found anywhere.
The pepperoni pizza with ovalini mozzarella was simply phenomenal with a great tasting sauce that isn’t too sweet and pepperonis that had a touch of spice, but not too much. The cheese is fantastic and asking for some extra while in line was the right choice.
The other pizza was just as good on the thinner crust and made for a crisper taste. One thing of note is that the Italian sausage does have a bit more of a kick to it, but it was still very good and everything tasted great.
Two pizzas…two fountain drinks…less than $28 total and the overall word is that Blaze Pizza is fantastic. It’s some of the best pizza on all of Walt Disney World property and makes for a great quick-service addition to Disney Springs.
While the Disney website may say differently, the cast at Blaze Pizza advised me that it is indeed on the Disney Dining Plan and it is one Quick-Service Credit for a pizza of any type (1-topping, build your own, simple, or signature), a fountain drink or tea or milk, and a dessert.
Along with D-Luxe Burger and Earl of Sandwich, Blaze Pizza makes Disney Springs a fantastic option for a quick-service meal and throw in new table-services such as Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming, STK, and Frontera Cocina and…I’m sorry, but Disney Springs is awesome.
