A number of characters have left the parks or been moved around in the past few months at Walt Disney World, but it’s happening again. This time, three characters are set to soon depart the grounds of Magic Kingdom.
Word has come about that the Toy Story duo of Woody and Jessie will soon be leaving Magic Kingdom with their final day being on Oct. 1, 2016. Effective as of Oct. 2, 2016, they will no longer have a meet-and-greet at the entrance of Frontierland.
There has been no word on what or if replacement characters will be coming in their places.
Another character leaving will be one that just started over in Adventureland back in October of last year.
Yes, it has also been reported that Rafiki will soon be leaving Magic Kingdom as well. He has been greeting Guests on the terrace near the Sunshine Tree Terrace for almost a year now.
An exact date for Rafiki’s departure is not yet known, but it will likely be around the same time as the others.
Disney has not yet made an official announcement on this so anything is subject to change which means it may end up being pushed back or may not happen at all. We can simply wait and see what happens with the beloved characters.
