A major event is happening at Universal Studios Orlando this morning as a catastrophic power outage occurred right around 10 a.m. and put some attractions out of commission.
The Orlando Fire Department is on the scene at Universal Studios as the power outage has affected attractions such as Men In Black and Transformers: The Ride. Numerous restaurants and shops and operations were also affected.
The power outage has not affected Islands of Adventure as of this writing.
Police have said that it was an outage that likely came within the infrastructure of the park and that no guests were in distress.
UPDATE at 11:31 a.m. EST: Reports are that power is back up and the large part of the park that was affected is back in working order.
Universal Studios employees evacuated guests as they could from the attractions, but Orlando Police Department and Orlando Fire Department members were needed for extra help in the evacuation of other rides.
