On Monday morning, the brand new “Welcome Show” at Magic Kingdom made its debut, and it was rather different than the old one on top of the Walt Disney World Railroad Station. A lot has changed, and here is everything you need to know about it.
So, the new “Welcome Show” moves it to the Cinderella Castle forecourt stage and off of the top of Walt Disney World Railroad station at the front of Magic Kingdom.
When can I enter the park?
Guests are allowed into the park at 8 a.m. for a scheduled Magic Kingdom opening of 9 a.m.
What can I do? Where can I go?
Upon entering, all merchandise stores on Main Street U.S.A. are open. You can go into Uptown Jewelers, The Emporium, and others.
Where can I eat?
The Main Street Bakery aka Starbucks will be open for business as usual. Also, Casey’s Corner will be open even though the hours listed on the official Walt Disney World website state that it still opens at 11 a.m.
Casey’s had a really nice new menu for the debut of the “Welcome Show” which included Croissant Doughnuts (Cronuts), Corn Dog Nuggets, Muffins, Bagels, and a Hash Brown Dog.
How far into Magic Kingdom can I go?
You can walk up and down all of Main Street U.S.A. from the entrance to the hub in front Cinderella Castle. Each land will be roped off and Guests were standing by each one and waiting for rope drop to go to their favorite attractions and such.
When does everything start?
The new welcome show is officially called “Let The Magic Begin,” and it is no more than five minutes. On most days, the show will begin at 8:55 a.m. with park opening officially taking place at 9 a.m.
As always, please, check the schedule and daily Times Guide for the day you will be at Magic Kingdom. You can watch the short show in the video below and see how days now begin.
Many believe that the old “Welcome Show” at the front of the park will return after the Walt Disney World Railroad refurbishment which is set to run through March 2. As of now, Disney has not said anything about this new “Welcome Show” being temporary and it certainly seems as if it is here to stay.
Yes, anything is possible, but it makes sense. Not only was security and screening upped with more room for them to work, but it made the flow and process quicker and easier. Also, the entrance was getting far too crowded for the old “Welcome Show,” and having this new one on the Cinderella Castle stage makes sense.

I think this is a great change. We have BOG reservations at 8:30am on Sunday. Any idea where BOG breakfast guests are directed to go?
Well, by that point, the park will be open and you just walk to the end of Main Street and advise them of your reservation. The Cast Members will allow you through the ropes and direct you to BOG.
